Paws and Callie 21 weeks May 27, 2006

5/27/2006
Went for a walk around Fish Creek campground. They loved the woods and all the smells. They got to meet Joe and Mary the campground hosts in A loop. Of course they were cute and charmed their way to a couple of treats from them...
5/12/2006--Went back to the vet to get weighed for heartworm pills...Paws came in at 27.7 and Callie came in at 26.7. They are really growing and developing their own ways. They like to be around us a lot..

4/16/2006--Took Callie and Paws to vet for last round of first shots on Friday 4/14. Unbelievable..they both weighed in at 20.5 pounds. We weighed them several times because the vets and us couldn't believe they were the same weight. We just got back from a trip to The Dalles, Oregon for a wedding. We took the girls and they were awesome the whole time and of course a magnet whereever we would take them for a walk. Callie was so used to going to the bathroom on snow that for the longest time she would not go unless there was snow on the ground. She has now adjusted once we explained to her it was ok. Too funny...

3/3/2006--Callie is becoming lanky with longer legs. Paws is getting more stocky, it will be interesting to see them mature. They are really enjoying their walks and seem to want to keep going..not realizing that they have to walk back. Because of all the snow the loops we walk are not yet walkable..with still 2+ feet of snow. It is ok for them because they walk on top of snow..but we sink....what a joy!.. The only time recently to take pictures seems to be when they are resting. For the most part they are going so fast it is hard to catch them with the camera....but we keep trying.....

2/24/2006--Well it has been over three weeks since we opened our home to these wonderful girls. It has been an interesting and educational time to say the least. While I was delivering a bed we made for our grandson to Washington state some type of bacterial bug tried to grab them. They got very ill and a diligent loving mom and great vets got them on the right medicine and we are happy to say they are doing quite well and starting to grow. On their vet visit today for shots they had each gained three pounds a piece. They seem to have different personalities but are best buds. They will eat everything in sight if we let them. They love to chew "everything". I didn't know something so small could generate so many trips to the bathroom . They are begining to understand when they must go outside. They go to the door for us to let them out. Sometimes they are playing so hard that they forget they have to go. The vet says we need to wait until they finish their begining shots before we begin to socialize them with other dogs.
