No photos today..perhaps weather will allow tomorrow.. The girl are still trying to work out the alpha thing between them ..neither one wants to give it up...they go at it ..nothing terrible...then give it up and go play for a while...then back at it again..usually the tussles take place during the walks...It is really interesting to watch..

The girls took us bike riding today in Apgar and they loved it. They wanted to run the whole time, but after a mile or so they slowed down a bit until they got their second wind. We will have to do that again. Great exercise for them and us.
What a wonderful fall day.

Another day here in paradise..the puppies had a good walk and ride yesterday and are still sleeping in....will have to wake them to go out...Paws got to try the bark collar inside last night. Typically when she has a leather chewy she will growl all the time...so she started it up again last night and I put the collar on her. She did her growl and it got her. She couldnt figure out what was going on and decided it was the chewy that caused it so put it down....I tried to explain but not sure she understood....Have a great day....

Good day....I can not believe it has been this long since I have posted here..too much stuff to do and not enough hours in the day to do them..but suppose that is the story of a lot of folks....bottom line is I havent posted....I will try and be better..

Enjoy these photos,
This is the current Queen of the ranch..she keeps the girls in line..

The BOSS

The girls acting like they are behaving.

The Girls
The girls have gotten very strong..will sure be glad when they get past the chewing stage...Had to get bark collars for them because one of our neighbors reported them as barking all the time..They rarely bark when we are around and then usually because something or someone is around..These are the same wonderful neighbors who complained because our waterfall made too much noise.. so much for their credability and being good neighbors... Have a great day....

Today was a day of firsts.. It was the first time the puppies got to ride in a kayak.. and I had a shoe on for the first time in four weeks..

Paws went first and did absolutely great..

Then it was Callies turn.. she was a bit skiddish at first but settled in quite nicely.

We did take out both puppies with both of us at the same time and they were both great .. unfortunately no one was around to take pictures...

After the boat ride they had some fun doing a bit of swimming..

Wow... time flies and stuff happens... I have been away way too long.... The puppies are growing into their own and doing well...Paws is the more laid back passive one and callie is a ball of energy and independence. They love to go for rides and long walks. They are eager to make new friends and don't really have much fear of anything.. They work hard at keeping the rabbits in the neighborhood in check and will chase them in an instant

It has been a wet and cool week..Most of the walks with the girls have been with umbrellas. The rain doesnt seem to bother them at all. They are still raring to go when we have finished our loop walk. Yesterday we took them to town with us and we walked on a big walk near the college campus in a sport complex. They slept all the way home and then was ready to go again. I wish I had that kind of energy.

It is incredible how quickly they come back from surgery. The girls had a good nite and did get a bit of food last nite before bed time. They kept that down all nite so today they are getting back on their normal food routine. They rode to town with us for brunch at our favorite place, then a little shopping and finally back home. They had a short nap along with the rest of the Pack. Took them out for a short walk around the neighborhood. They are now relaxing in their kennel.

June 2, 2006

Today was the day the girls went to see Dr Barbara and all the other ladies at Calm Animal Care in Kila Montana.

We dropped them off at 8 AM very excited and full of energy.

This is them full of energy and checking out anything and everything upon arrival at the clinic. Little did they know they were there to get spayed.

We came back and picked them back up around 3 PM. They were happy to see us, however they were in a very relaxed and mellow state. Callie weighted in at 32 pounds and Paws tipped the scales at 31.6 pounds.

This is their state of mind and activity after we got home.

They seemed so far to fair well from their ordeal. Understandably they were moving rather slow. Callie was the perkiest of the two. They had some water and went to the bathroom when we got home and then crashed.

Paws and Callie 21 weeks May 27, 2006

5/27/2006
Went for a walk around Fish Creek campground. They loved the woods and all the smells. They got to meet Joe and Mary the campground hosts in A loop. Of course they were cute and charmed their way to a couple of treats from them...
5/12/2006--Went back to the vet to get weighed for heartworm pills...Paws came in at 27.7 and Callie came in at 26.7. They are really growing and developing their own ways. They like to be around us a lot..

4/16/2006--Took Callie and Paws to vet for last round of first shots on Friday 4/14. Unbelievable..they both weighed in at 20.5 pounds. We weighed them several times because the vets and us couldn't believe they were the same weight. We just got back from a trip to The Dalles, Oregon for a wedding. We took the girls and they were awesome the whole time and of course a magnet whereever we would take them for a walk. Callie was so used to going to the bathroom on snow that for the longest time she would not go unless there was snow on the ground. She has now adjusted once we explained to her it was ok. Too funny...

3/3/2006--Callie is becoming lanky with longer legs. Paws is getting more stocky, it will be interesting to see them mature. They are really enjoying their walks and seem to want to keep going..not realizing that they have to walk back. Because of all the snow the loops we walk are not yet walkable..with still 2+ feet of snow. It is ok for them because they walk on top of snow..but we sink....what a joy!.. The only time recently to take pictures seems to be when they are resting. For the most part they are going so fast it is hard to catch them with the camera....but we keep trying.....

2/24/2006--Well it has been over three weeks since we opened our home to these wonderful girls. It has been an interesting and educational time to say the least. While I was delivering a bed we made for our grandson to Washington state some type of bacterial bug tried to grab them. They got very ill and a diligent loving mom and great vets got them on the right medicine and we are happy to say they are doing quite well and starting to grow. On their vet visit today for shots they had each gained three pounds a piece. They seem to have different personalities but are best buds. They will eat everything in sight if we let them. They love to chew "everything". I didn't know something so small could generate so many trips to the bathroom . They are begining to understand when they must go outside. They go to the door for us to let them out. Sometimes they are playing so hard that they forget they have to go. The vet says we need to wait until they finish their begining shots before we begin to socialize them with other dogs.
